The Den Winter Closure

As we move into the cooler months, The Den, Heathwood Hall’s newest golf practice facility, will be taking a winter rest. This downtime allows the grass and natural turf areas to recover, ensuring the facility remains in top condition for spring practice.

This temporary closure is essential for ensuring our student-athletes come back in the spring to a top-tier facility that's ready to handle the demands of a competitive season,” said Drew Mabry, Head Coach of the Heathwood Hall Boys and Girls Golf Team.

Thank you for helping us keep this fantastic facility in top condition!

Year-Round Facility Guidelines
  • Access: The Den is currently designated for Heathwood’s boys’ and girls’ golf team members only.
  • Grass Areas: The natural grass hitting areas are closed while the turf is dormant (Oct. 15 - Mar. 15).
  • Practice Mats: All ball striking should be done from the synthetic turf mats (artificial tees).
  • No Divots: Please avoid taking divots at this time (grass dormancy) to help the grass recover and stay healthy for spring.
  • Maintenance: Sand/seed filling stations will be installed when natural turf practice resumes in the spring (March 15).
  • We kindly ask that all posted rules and guidelines be followed while at the facility.

We appreciate your understanding and support in helping The Den remain a safe, sustainable, and high-quality practice environment for our student-athletes. "We’re excited for another great golf season ahead and can’t wait to see everyone back in The Den when the grass comes alive in the spring," said Brionna Zimmerman, Heathwood Hall Athletic Director.
